Magpies are the Bird of The Great Central Valley (Pica nuttalli)

A blessing to have such a creature here in The Central Valley.   This post is basically a bunch of links for people that want to learn more about the yellow-billed magpie.

Endemic to California.  The yellow-billed magpie is the only endemic bird to the mainland California.  Pica nuttalli is mostly only found here in the Central Valley.

Magpie Cafe has had three logos over the years.  The soaring magpie is the latest.

Before us R.H Phillips, now the Matchbook Wines Family, winery had some beautiful Magpie Artwork

John James Audubon captured Pica nutalli in the 1830s.  His work is worth spending some time enjoying.
